Dan Potacke Show March 8th w/ Tom Farley and comedian Ryan Casey

March 3rd, 2010

It’s time for another Dan Potacke Show! Joining Dan this time around will be Tom Farley. Tom is currently running for a seat on the Madison Metropolitan School Board. He is also the founder of the Chris Farley Foundation, a nationally recognized substance abuse prevention organization named in honor of his late brother, Chris Farley. He is also the co-author of The New York Times bestseller, The Chris Farley Show: A Life in Three Acts. Tom is the first Dan Potacke guest whom has had a book on the NYT bestseller list AND the first guest is who is currently running for public office… wow!

Also, we will have great comedy by Mr. Ryan Casey. Ryan Casey has recently cut his hair shorter which is a really good look for him, he looks sharp. Just imagine if he had a nice pair of slacks to go with it! Ryan Casey: He’s going places! Oh, and he is very funny to boot!

All this and more at The Dan Potacke Show at the Frequency at 6:30 PM on Monday, March 8th. As always, this show has NO COVER and is 21+.

Dan Potacke Show - 1ST ANNIVERSARY SHOW - Feb. 22nd!

February 15th, 2010

In February 2009... a show began. Few believed it would last longer than a few months but now... one year later... THE DAN POTACKE SHOW THRIVES!

Hi, Dan Potacke here, on February 22nd, I’m throwing The Dan Potacke Show: One Year Anniversary Special. Guests will include Sly from Sly in the Morning on WTDY, rockers The Selfish Gene, and comedian JoAnne Poniatowski.

I’ll look back at the highlights of a great year of talk shows and count the number of times I’ve broken down and cried onstage, I think it’s more than a dozen! Plus: We will introduce a revamped and retrofitted Wheel of Fantasticness, hopefully this time it will be able to spin without falling over and hurting me.

All this and more, at the Frequency 121 W. Main St. on Monday February, 22nd at 6:30 pm! NO COVER!!!!!!!!!!! Be there!

Dan Potacke Show - Feb. 8th WITH PAUL SOGLIN!!!

February 3rd, 2010

That’s right, on February 8th, the legendary former Madison Mayor Paul Soglin will stop by the Frequency to chat with me about his historic legacy and his current projects. During his terms as Mayor, Soglin’s initiatives helped create and shape many of the things that make Madison great today. Presently, he has returned to his activist roots as he publicly calls out governments and lobbyists on issues ranging from campaign finance to the plowing of city streets. Why is he coming on this show? I have no idea.

Also joining me that night with be comedians Nick Hart and Rochelle Steeno. Nick Hart's comedy is getting better week-by-week as he delivers great jokes including amazing story jokes that can last for minutes but keep audiences enthused the whole way. Rochelle Steeno performs bits that challenge some of the locked forms of modern comedy, she's also very funny.

Fun fact, I believe Paul Soglin is the first Dan Potacke guest who has met Fidel Castro. Maybe Comedian Nick Hart met Fidel Castro once, I’ll have to check on that.

Dan Potacke Show- January 25th

January 19th, 2010

Yay! Hi, Dan Potacke here! It's almost time for another Dan Potacke Show.

All the money in the Donation Bucket this week will be going to Doctors Without Borders Haiti Relief instead of going to Dan Potacke. So bring a couple extra Washingtons to toss in.

This time, I welcome the band Buried Future. Normally, they rock out by playing loud music known as "metal." But this time, they'll be rocking through the form of consise answers to interview questions! Oh yeah!

I'll also sit down with Emily Mills, who will talk about the upcoming Fireball II at High Noon Saloon. We'll also talk about her new job as a columnist for thedailypage.com and her new video webseries, Chapel.

We'll also welcome comedians Chris Holodya and my old pal Jon "ACTION" Lyons!

A sample of Jon Lyons's work.

Dan Potacke Show - Jan 11th (and Sep 14th videos!)

January 6th, 2010

Hi, Dan Potacke here! Guess what? The Dan Potacke Show is about to return for 2010! I'm going to will share my fitness tips as I work to get you in shape for the New Year.

Also, I will sit down with poet Marcos Lara as he reads selections from his book of poetry, "Praise, Pain & Lust." Um... I like the "Praise" part of that title.

Plus, comedian Dylan Brogan will tell jokes. You should come and laugh at his jokes, they are very funny and he's a nice man!!!

In other news, I've also put up new videos from the September 14th show. If you don't remember, September was the time when you could go outside for more than 30 seconds without freezing to death.

In this episode, I show off my new career as a motivational speaker. Then, I get interrupted by some guys who are tailgating... for local theatre. Local bicycling enthusiast "2Fast4U" stops by to give some bike safety tips. Plus, I interview local writer/director Rob Matsushita and the very nice band Kitty Rhombus!
